How can I remotely shutdown another Windows computer?


Hacking,oh yes! Now you can shutdown anyone's ONLINE computer from your home.wOw,isn't it,feel like an Hacker...

Requirements :
  • High speed Internet Connection (Also works in Low bandwidth )  


  • Os : Windows Xp or Higher

and the computer's ip address which one you want to Shutdown/Restart/LogOff,Like your friend's or any Cyber Cafe's Computers.Otherwise you can also search Ip addresses by Using "Angry Ip Scanner" Tool,please download this freeware application from Google,and you'll be able to see it's Online/Offline status by using this software.For checking your own IP address,type "ipconfig/all" (Without quotes) on cmd .

Let's see how to complete this Task :


  • Go to run and type "cmd"
  •  Type " shutdown -i "(Without Quotes)
  •  It'll open a Dialog Box named "Remote Shutdown Dialog"
  •  Click on the Add button and specify the name or IP address of the Computer you wish to Shutdown/Restart/LogOff & click Ok button.
  • Then Choose a option from "What do you want these computer to do: >> Shutdown/Restart/Logoff"
  •  Next Tick the "Warn users of the action"  if you want,otherwise unmark that.
  • Afterthat in the Shutdown Event Tracker, choose the Option you wish the Event Log to show.
  • Then type anything on comment box & press ok.

If you did all the given steps correctly,then the cmd window will show an Succeed message and shutdown within the given period of time.


Failure Reasons::-

  • Remote Administration or the $ADMIN share is disabled.
  • Make sure that you're logged into an account that has Administrative Privileges.
Additional Info ::
  • AutoShutdown Command ::  shutdown -s -t 1000

Here 1000 stands for the time,in Seconds.(Very useful command for late night users,and it's also helpful for those who liked to listen songs before sleep,don't worry from today,set shutdown timer and sleep,your pc 'll be automatically shutdown after the given period of time)


  • AutoRestart  Command ::  shutdown -r -t 1000



  • To Cancle Any of these Operations,Command :: shutdown -a
